Day 1: Dar es Salaam - (Arrival in Dar es Salaam)
A group of students and their professors/lectures arrive happily in Dar es Salaam at Mwl. Nyerere Int. airport, meet and greet then a short briefing and road transfer to a booked place of accommodation for check-in, then if time permits the group shall start to enjoy a special visit to the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM), which Is the oldest and public university in Tanzania, started in 1961 as a college of the University of London. In 1963 it became a Constituent College of the University of East Africa. Then the group shall visit The National College of Tourism (N.C.T), and lunch to be served at one of the allocated places. Then back to your place of accommodation for a refresh before dinner and overnight. Booked on Full Board.
Day 2: Dar es Salaam City Tour.
After breakfast, the group shall be picked up to enjoy the Dar city tour and have a chance to see the old buildings like National Museum, Askari Monument, Azania front Lutheran church, Botanic garden, Fish market, Mnazi mmoja (Mwenge touch), Kariakoo market, Mwenge handcraft, and Makumbusho village museum and Tingatinga market and The Slipway. The group shall attend and participate in a live cultural music extravaganza with songs and dances then shall have a Lunch break before being transferred back to a place of accommodation before Dinner and Overnight. Day 3: Bagamoyo Historical Town Tour – Full Day.
After breakfast, the group shall have a road transfer north of Dar es Salaam to Bagamoyo historical town about 75KM from Dar city center which is the UNESCO historical site. It is a place of considerable significance to world history, both as an entry point for Arab and European missionaries, explorers, and traders in East and Central Africa, and in the history of the infamous slave trade with rich cultural heritage waiting for you to explore whereby the Kaole ruins dating back to the 12th century thought to mark one of the earliest contacts of Islam with Africa; the Old Fort built-in 1860 for holding slaves for shipment to Zanzibar; the first Roman Catholic Church in East Africa built around 1868 used as a base to run a camp of about 650 freed slaves; the German colonial administration headquarters, the Boma, in the first capital of German East Africa; the Mission Museum displaying the history of Bagamoyo; and the Livingstone Memorial Church among others. Thereafter the group shall enjoy Lunch at one of the local selected areas before heading into Bagamoyo white sandy beach for fun then later road transfer back to Dar es Salaam, have Dinner and overnight. Day 4: Dar es Salaam to Magoroto Forest Estate, Muheza – Tanga.
An early pick up from your hotel/hostel in Dar es Salaam on your private road transfer to Magoroto Forest Estate in Tanga. At around 10h30 arrive at Magoroto main house & have a brief history of the place and induction program at 11h00, then start Forest walk to lake and Spice farm tour at 13h00. Lunch picnic at lake 13h30, thereafter lake activities (fishing, boat ride, rafting, swimming) 18h00 Bonfire at lake 19h00 Dinner 19h30 Board games & evening chill out and overnight at a campsite. • Forest Walk • With the dense rainforest, Magoroto Estate provides a number of easy walkways for forest walking where you can explore nature. Walk through the numerous water streams in the forest and learn about the plant species in Magoroto. • Spice Tour • Cardamom, Black Pepper and Cloves are among the many spices that flourish in Magoroto Estate. A spice tour gives you an opportunity to learn more about spices, and how they are grown and processed. The spices grown in Magoroto are all organic and packaged in retail packs for you to carry as souvenirs on your departure.
. • Swimming • Magoroto Lake is manmade and was dug in the year 1956 by the Swiss. The lake has fresh water fed in by natural springs. It’s 12 meters deep allowing for one of the best diving experiences. Due to the depth of the lake children must always be accompanied by adults while swimming. We have life jackets, floaters, and a lifeguard to help with lake activities. • Fishing • Tilapia and catfish have been introduced to the lake in the year 2005. Try fishing in the lake with our locally made fishing rods. You may choose to cook or bbq your catch of the day. . • Bonfire/ Campfire • Our evening bonfires are the best, giving friends and guests an opportunity to come together and connect under the night sky. We have numerous bonfire spots at the main house and campsite. Dinner and overnight at the campsite. Booked on Full Board.
Day 5: Full Day activities in Magoroto forest estate.
Wake up at 06h00 for hiking to the waterfalls 08h00 breakfast 12h00 Lake swim after hike 13h00 Lunch 13h30 swimming and lake Activities 1800 bonfire 1830 BBQ • Mountain Hiking (Trekking) • Magoroto Forest offers a total of eight well-documented hiking trails. The trails differ in the level of difficulty providing choices for different trails based on your fitness level. The trails pass through a number of attractions along the way ending in picturesque viewing points. The shortest trail is about 1.5Km (30 mins trek) while the longest is about 12km (8 hours hike). In between are a number of other trails and endless possibilities to combine the trails to fit your fitness level and desire. • BBQ • Every Saturday is a BBQ night at Magoroto. On the menu would be Beef, Mbuzi, Chicken, or Fish BBQ available. Overnight at the campsite.
Day 6: Magoroto back to Dar es Salaam.
At 08h00 breakfast 09h00, Magoroto factory tour (reliving the history) 10h00 mountain biking/spice tour/garden relaxation & photo-shoot • Mountain Biking • Our mountain biking trails pass through what used to be the access roads when the palm plantation was active. Choose a biking trail that fits your fitness level among the five documented trails and enjoy a cool fresh breeze while biking through the rainforest. The group shall visit an authentic rural village to see real-life, meet people, see their work, and hear their stories.
At 12h30 Lunch break at the campsite then after lunch check out and start the trip back to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival re-check in before Dinner and overnight. Booked on full board.
Day 7: Dar Sport Complex
After breakfast group shall have morning leisure time at their place of accommodation and probably shall have a chance to do shopping at Kariakoo street on their own. Afternoon Lunch and later shall be taken to Jakaya Sports complex center for sports entertainment volleyball, football, tennis, etc. Back to your place of accommodation for refreshment before dinner and overnight. Booked on fully Board.
Day 8: Departure
After breakfast, this shall be a sad day a group shall have a road drive well on time to the airport for your international flight back home.
