Day 1: (4 hours on foot 2 hours on drive)
The tour begins in Lushoto by picking you up at 08h00 am from your hotel then start hiking to Lukozi village through Magamba tropical rain forest through lush green hills, thick pine forests, passing through different sceneries you will have a chance to spot loads of chameleons that are native to the mountains and also learn it’s habit and habitat in their natural environment. Also, you will learn about the local medicines from the indigenous plants, and if you are lucky enough you could also see the magic experience of two types of wild monkeys in the forest stalking them quietly as they swing through the trees. This walk will cover about 18km for 6-7 hours walking. Dinner and overnight at Bushbaby Homestay. You will meet and exchange ideas with local families who are very friendly and learn how local people live and prepare their local meals, you can even participate in preparing the food if you wish.
Day 2: (6-7 hours walk)
After breakfast starts hiking from the bush baby homestay to Mambo village, passing through different land escarpments sceneries and farmland where you will learn about different local cultures and colonial history. Passing through some friendly villages then experience and learn different local farming methods and how local people fit into their environments. Shall enjoy your picnic lunch halfway. Being at the edge of the mountain will give you a spectacular view of the Pare Mountains. Dinner and overnight at Mambo Magumba lodge, a very nice lodge located on the peak which gives you an incredible view over the Kilimanjaro summits and multi colorful sunset even inside in your room. This walk will cover about 20kms for 7 hours.
Day 3: (2 ½ hours drive)
Wake up at around 06h30 am for watching the Kilimanjaro summit just from inside your room on a clear morning, 08h00 you will have breakfast before having a short walk to Mambo cliffs to have an amazingly different view over the Maasai steeple and the Pare mountains for about 2 hours then leave at around 11 am back to Lushoto by a road drive for 2 ½ hours for the drop off where the trip ends.
